Okay, a little wordy. So let's take a break and look at the swatches.

When dispensed, it is just a blob. Not the runny texture that you've been seeing from the Ginvera BB / Bio-essence BB / Maybelline BB. If you've forgotten what those three BBs looked like, just click on their respective words to go to the post.

Top - Blended / Bottom - Swatched heavily

Here's the swatches on my arm. I'm not sure if anyone of you can tell but it actually has more of a greyish undertone. It's actually really grey so you might turn out ashy if it's not really your shade.

L - Heavily dabbed on / M - Bare mole / R - Blended

My favorite! The MOLE coverage test. You can always click to enlarge my unsightly mole and view my eurghh... Hair. Coverage is decent, I'd say more of a medium coverage that can be built up. Very creamy and easy to blend.

L - Before / R - After

I don't know why, but my face was exceptionally pale that day when I took these pictures. I didn't really focus any on my extreme dark eye circles so it's still a little obvious. But it's obviously very slightly lighter when compared to the before picture. I had a tiny acne scar below my nose and it was covered up easily with this BB cream.

This BB cream didn't really have any unpleasant scent, it just smelt like... A typical floral powdery kinda smell. The usual cosmetics kind. Coverage is pretty decent and you do not require a concealer if you do not have much problematic areas on your face or dark eye circles. The pictures above were taken without a concealer and without powder. It gives you more of a matte finish. Not something that's flat matte but it's not exactly dewy either. It would look very natural if not for the grey cast that might occur with some people. I don't have much of a problem with that but if you're more tanned, you might want to test this out first before purchasing.

It's a very creamy BB cream but at the same time it does not feel thick on the skin. Of course, it depends on the amount you apply as well and half a pump is sufficient for my face. A little goes a long way because of how blendable it is. My face is rather pale to begin with so any whitening effects were not apparent. It did brighten my skin a little upon application but that's just because it evens out my skin tone. I do not have wrinkles thus I am unable to judge on that aspect.

This product is available at Watsons and you can visit their FB page HERE! I would suggest for you to purchase from Watsons because it's not really easy to tell if the product is authentic from online pictures. However, HERE's something that may help you if you've already bought it online.

Texture: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Very creamy and blendable. No problems with texture unless yours is fake.)
Coverage: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Pretty alright for a BB cream, lesser points because I'd expected more coverage from such a creamy product.)
Lasting Power: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (It's alright, no fabulous oil control but no oil slick either.)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Something you can reach out for everyday and it's pretty!)

Cheers.
Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : Once again, this is bought with my own money and I am in no way related to Watsons or Skin79.

Product Review Bio-Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream Plus Multi Effects SPF 25 PA ++

So for days there's been a lack of reviews. Ringo and I both did one each today but I'm not satisfied with myself!

Which is why I'm going to review a BB cream that I've promised to review awhile back actually...

Ta da! It's the Bio-Essence Bio Platinum BB Cream Plus Multi Effects SPF 25 PA ++~ Basically it's known as the 10 in 1 effect BB cream. Having mentioned that, I'm sure everyone'd like to know what the 10 effects are. Read on!

Firstly, this is what Bio-Essence says about this BB cream : "Platinum is cherished and represents purity and eternity; it is the rarest and most stable form of precious metal. It possesses excellent compatibility with the human body and its powerful anti-oxidant properties are also superior. With 10 effects in just 1 bottle, the Bio Platinum BB Cream reawakens beautiful skin, creating a flawless, luminous makeup and youthful skin that exudes natural beauty and charm from the inside out." - Quoted from TheSampleStore

The picture above shows the 10 effects that can be done with just this BB cream! Sorry about the bright spots of light though, this BB cream is kinda reflective but I still need good lighting at the same time.

The tip of my BB cream is rather dirty. I think I bought a faulty tube because this product just leaks out continuously unless I flip it over. The rest of my tubes are alright though.

This is what it looks like on the back of my hand. It's not the usual very light BB cream shade. But at the same time you still need to be not too tan to wear this.

Swatch on my arm. Blends in almost perfectly too! But lets not forget the coverage test!

L - Before / R - After

Lo and behold, my naked mole vs the partially concealed mole. It looks slightly smaller in the after picture because I wasn't holding my camera as close to my mole. As you can see, coverage is pretty good. My mole is still visible but it's kinda barely there. I would conclude that this is also another light to medium coverage BB cream!

Now we should proceed to see my face xD

L - Before / R - After

Nope, it's actually not too light for me. As you can see, I have very yellowish dull skin. It totally depends on what time of the day because my skin tends to oxidize throughout the day and this picture was taken in the evening today. So it's pretty dull and dead.

What I love is that it brightens without whitening! By whitening, I mean it doesn't make me look ghost pale. If you're judging coverage by looking at how well my under eye circles are concealed, don't. I have eye bags. They are unconcealable, unstoppable, invincible. I wish they were invisible. This BB cream smells really really good too. It smells kind of floral and fruity at the same time? If you have the series below, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Yes, the BB cream smells identical to the Bio-Essence Bird Nest series in my opinion! I really adore it. Also you do have to take note that this BB cream is quite watery in texture. It goes on really smooth and I love the finish on my face! Not matte but not overly dewy either.

Oil control wise, it's like any other BB for me. I have an extremely oily T-zone so it can't be helped. I'm still loving the BB though. This BB cream can be bought found in Watsons or Guardian for $32. Sometimes they do have a 20% off so be sure to grab yours :D

Texture: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (I think this one is wonderful!)
Coverage: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (It's not too bad for a BB! It's once again buildable though!)
Lasting Power: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (My face is really just too oily)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (I love these which is why I bought mine in the first place)

Our giveaway is ending soon! Remember to join HERE.

Cheers,

Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : I bought this by myself before winning one from Bio-Essence. Thus this product was actually paid with my own money. I am in no way related to Bio-essence or Watsons or Guardian.

Product Review : Ginvera Green Tea Aqua Whitening Cream + Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

I love Starbucks' Green Tea Latte, I love MACCHA!

Maccha ice cream, maccha candy, maccha everything! Maccha isn't only tasty, it has many other benefits as well!

And today, we finally have Green tea + Skincare + Make up! I love'em! Meet the newest addition to the Ginvera family, the Ginvera Green Tea Aqua Whitening Cream and the Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream!

The goodies sent to me by TheSampleStore! Thanks~ Also I don't have a picture of the envelope because I am the kind of person that goes... "OMG I GOT MAIL?!" followed by *Rips open package excitedly*. Speaking of ripping it open, these smell so good that I caught a whiff of it once I opened the package!

Before I go on, let me tell you the benefits of green tea! There are definitely health benefits like helping to lose weight and lower cholesterol levels but it's not about the body today, it's about the face! Allow me to share with all of you what I've learnt in my beauty journey.

Green tea contains a high amount of antioxidants. And then you wonder, what's antioxidants and why do we need them?! We need them because of free radicals. We all know that our skin oxidizes and lose radiance as the day goes by. Free radicals are present EVERYWHERE, they damage our skin because they are actually sorta like unstable and need to find a "partner". So they come to our skin and "extract" a cell, hence damaging our skin in the process but "stabilizing" themselves. In this scenario, antioxidants will form a barrier around our skin, protecting it from the free radicals and maintaining the radiance of it!

Description and how to use

Out of the box!

Well if you lose or dump the box, you won't forget it's descriptions and properties!

I have fallen in love with this product! As I've mentioned earlier on, it smells super good! I super heart this. Fragrance is my weak spot, I know that it's a skin irritant to the sensitive skin babes but I don't really have sensitive skin so... Yeah. But it's not just a good-for-nothing product! It not only smells good, it does do what it claims!

Let me show you the texture.

Can you see? So innocently white and creamy. It feels really bouncy, like a pudding! And seeing that it's so creamy, one might fear that it's too thick and might possibly leave a film on the skin but NO. This doesn't! In fact it absorbs so easily that I was astonished too. I have to add, I thought it would be thick and oily. Typical thought for the oily combination skin people!

Upon application, there is INSTANT brightening of the skin! I know, amazing right? I haven't used this for a week, just a few days but the first application already rocked my world! I decided to give it a more difficult test. In the morning I didn't put any skincare before going to work. *No one else should follow this! I did this just to test the product!!!* And then in the evening when I reached home, I washed my face and used ONLY this cream as the only product in my skincare routine. It still managed to brighten my skin and give it radiance~ It's amazing and super affordable!

Also, it has oil control properties which is just perfect for me. It really did control oil and I happily went out after using it plus another product which you will know more about once you scroll down.

It's only $16.90 for 40g worth of products, way more affordable than the luxury brands~

The next star product is the Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream SPF30 PA ++ ! Maccha again~ LOVES!

The packaging makes it feels so... Magical / Mystical.

The main purpose...

Ingredients list again!

Descriptions + Directions

Unboxed!

No worries if you trash the box~

This product has so much goodies packed into it, not just the green tea, there's still sodium hyaluronate and ginseng extracts! Great for pampering your skin~ You can see Ginvera's description in the picture above.

Let me share what I think instead. This BB cream has made it to my must have list! It's so light yet it provides a sufficient amount of coverage. It brightens my skin without making it look ashy. It's spreads very smoothly and blends without a problem.

Jaaaaa JANG ~ ! See how liquid-y it is, really super light on the skin.

If you saw my reviews for the Murad Hybrids, you will know that I devised a *ahem* smart way to test product coverage. So as you can see above, the BB cream blends almost perfectly into my skin! On my face there is definitely no problem at all, application of this product is a breeze!

So now I'm going to show you my naked face and my face after application. Beware though, I made my before picture extra scary :)

LOOK. Just look at the super dark circles from the before picture!!! I also had a pimple scar below my nose and if you compare it to the after picture, it's nearly invisible. See the beautiful finish it gives me? It doesn't give an overly dewy look but keeps it matte without looking too matte. Like... Not too fake. My dark eye circles are also concealed rather well with this BB. Smells damn good too, just like the cream!

It also has SPF 30 PA+++ so you can wear this alone and not get burnt to a crisp. For the more paranoid people like me, just wear a sunscreen underneath if you do not feel that SPF30 PA++ is sufficient. Usually I just wear this BB alone though.

It's such a great product and it only costs $16.90 for 25ml. So affordable too!!! I will totally get it if I were you.

Product Review : OMG IT'S THE MAYBELLINE PURE BB MINERAL MOUSSE!

I demand all my readers to applaud me for doing this at 3.31am!!! Okay, I'm kidding. I love reviewing products and it's my interest. Which is why I have this blog. But then again, it's really 3.31am.

Moving on, remember how I promised this would be up by Wednesday? Yeap you can see for yourself today, the amount of reviews we have decided to spam in one day.

You can see the review for it's sister, Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream here!

Less words, more pictures!!!

*Holy light shines from behind and you hear a heavenly cry~*

Ignore the mess at the back. It's always there! Proudly presenting the Maybelline Pure BB Mineral Mousse that Xuan bought for me from Taiwan! Thanks Xuan!!!

We did this in the morning so say hi to our tired faces. (Yet again)

My eyebags in its full glory
Skin is alright, but overall a little puffy.

Okay weird angle... But I was sleepy!!! ||orz

So after seeing our tired faces... Which I believe you're not interested in... Here's the mousse!!!

I am SHROOM.
Not edible!

Good mousse shouldn't just plop off! SCORE~ Ignore Ringo's hand!!!

I know, it's so cute right? But... Yes, there's a but.

Upper blob - Fresh / Bottom blob - Oxidized

The picture isn't too bad, but in RL it oxidizes REALLY quickly. It's no joke. From a normal BB cream color to one with really strong orange undertones. But! Don't get scared off yet.

Upper - Ringo(NC15) / Lower - Chiharu(NC20)
Same as above sequence but blended out.
If you're super pale like Ringo, the orange undertone will peek through. A little obvious. Don't faint yet. You have to see it on the face first!

After using it....
Can you see how crazily good the coverage is?! All redness is gone from her face! The orange cast isn't super obvious, it's very slight and can be easily countered with powder.

Eyebags gone, don't look as tired! Skintone evened out too.

Unlike Ringo, I'm not super pale. The orange cast is super not visible on me so I'm safe!

MY SAY

Let's talk color. It's quite orangey yellowy but definitely more orange. It won't show if you set it with powder unless you're really ghost pale. The good thing about this color is that tanned babes will love it! It won't leave a whitish cast on your skin. Remember how the Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral BB cream had two colors? This one is leaning more towards shade 2, the natural shade.

I love the coverage though, isn't it great that you don't have to use another concealer? Also applying this on your face is plain fun because it's not always that you get to put mousse on your face. Precisely because it's a mousse, it's very light in texture, similar to it's sister, the Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral BB cream! I can't tell you the ingredients in this though because the ingredients list is super puny. I get cross eyed attempting to read it. So yea, I don't know how similar they are to each other in terms of ingredients.

Above were what I can consider the good points. On to the bad...

THIS DOES NOT STAY PUT!!! I swear. I tried putting my favorite loose powder to set it and guess what? It doesn't work. Say you have a runny nose. It'll come off once you blow your nose on a tissue. Or maybe your face felt itchy and you scratched at it. Say goodbye to the BB cream. This absolutely does not adhere well to my face at all! o(╥﹏╥)o

This also goes on a little streaky so I would suggest application with your fingers. It's the fastest way and it will never leave streaks!

A little comparison picture to remind all of you what it does!

I just love the coverage on Ringo!

I like mousse and coverage again~

If you find a way to set it really well, let me know! It's a waste to let this product go just because it doesn't set like I want it. Perhaps dry skin babes would adore this? This is currently unavailable in Singapore so if you want it... Comment below and if we gather enough, we could possibly get Maybelline Singapore to do something about it? :D

Otherwise if you're afraid of it sliding off, stick to the sister!

Texture: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (One star off because of possible streakiness)
Coverage: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (The coverage is amazing! Refer to pictures for evidence~)
Lasting Power: ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ (I guess if you don't ever touch or blot your face it might stay?)
Overall: ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ (I swear the coverage is the plus point. Super great! But why you slide /.\)

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤

Product Review : Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals BB Cream

I know you all want the BB mousse review, but first let me review its sister okay?

I promised that for the review to be up on Wednesday, so here I am rushing this post in the middle of the night, hoping to set this to auto post tomorrow because I have work from 8am-4pm and then afterwards I have to mail some stuff before going to the Watsons member private sale and Rosebullet!

Must make you all feel guilty okay, I have work tomorrow so I have to wake at 6 and here I am just starting to edit the pictures!!! It just means I'll get maybe 2 hours of sleep .__.

Before I continue, TA-DA!

My entry for Maybelline's Face of the Week!

I won! Imagine my surprise when I suddenly saw the news in my FB's feed. I had actually forgotten about it because I was busy settling some disputes with my agent and working! Also you can see the product in the picture xD I'm too lazy to snap the picture now because I forgot earlier on so... Yeah.

Add bonus cause got my face!

Now onto the review. The pictures are going to be quite ugly because we only had time to do it at night and we were feeling tired. Shag. Drained. ZOMBIE!!!

ZOMBIEEEEE~

Did that shock you? No?

ZOMBIEEEEEEE 2!

How bout this? Lack of sleep + dull face after a busy day!

No sleep plus work makes us unhealthy bloggers. Not to mention breakouts o(╥﹏╥)o Mine's above my upper lips, can see that ugly spot there? It's no longer there, just a scar. I'm so tired while doing this review I'm nearly brain dead.

Uneven skintone, breakouts, pores... How do we fix this mess?! The answer to that is either a BB cream or a Foundation or a tinted moisturizer. In this case we chose the Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals BB Cream!

First an arm swatch to show the color on a NC15 and NC20 skin!

L-Ringo(NC15) / R-Chiharu(NC20)

Problem solved.
Magic~ Can you see how Ringo's face is nearly perfect now? I'm sure you can see a few spots on her chin but still, BB cream isn't a magic wand!

Zombie no more!
I hate the wonky hair. I took it at night after washing off all my previous makeup so my fringe is wet and somewhat lumpy.. See my dark eye circles, it's mostly gone. The few shadows left are either cast by my hair or by my eyebags. Those cannot be concealed.

Oh and my apologies, in our sleepiness we totally forgot to take a swatch of the bb cream blended into our arms. Here's our comparison pictures that we remembered to take! :D

Okay, the lighting is a little different but you can see the obvious difference in skin color right!

Mine's not as obvious but er... Yea my scar is less obvious in RL

To be honest, I quite like this BB. It's really light and the color blends in on not only my face but Ringo's too. I would say it's a light to medium coverage that's buildable. However, tanned babes may not like this cause it will be too pale for you. So let's applaud Maybelline for coming out with a shade 2! I think there are people who would appreciate that.

There's no distinct scent for this, just typical er... Make up scent? I don't like it but it disappears after slapping it on my face so it's not a problem for me. Oh and it's not that we don't want to include the ingredient list for this, it's just sooooo puny I can't even see it with my eyes... I do believe all skin types can use this but the sensitive babes might want to do a patch test first. Usually minerals are face-friendly but there are people who are allergic to mineral products.

You can get this at Watsons/Guardians for only $13.90 now! (On promotion!)

Texture: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Very smooth and blendable)
Coverage: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Light to Medium coverage, but can be built upon.)
Lasting Power: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (It can stay for awhile but I will need to touch up or it'll slide off my face!)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Actually it's a 3.5/5 I like it but I still like my products to have a scent =x)

So very tired,
Chiharu ❤
