Product Review : Mac Ravishing Lipstick

Hello hello, I've scheduled this post for the afternoon so good afternoon everyone! It's midnight now and I'm trying to finish this post before I go to bed.

I finally have a cosmetic product review up for you~~~ = 3 =

Now please don't bother about the dust T__T My table is EXTREMELY messy and I can't help if some dust gets on something once in awhile. I actually tried wiping the dust of but... Well...

Introducing the Mac Ravishing Lipstick! (Cremesheen finish) I was a crazy fan of Mac before I started loving the Jap and Korea cosmetics so I acquired this lipstick via their recycling program. Return 6 Mac empties to get 1 new lippie.

Here's the lipstick! I've used it a few times prior to taking the picture so pardon the weird markings too.

Here's a swatch of it on my arm.

And my ugly lip x 2. As you can see, this is not the glossiest or most moisturizing lipstick in the world. You can see all of my lip lines, even when I smile you can see that it's uneven! The color is more true on my arm, a muted peachy orangey shade.

The lipstick doesn't really go on smoothly so for dry lips, this isn't something you would like. It's not flattering at all for people with lips like mine so I would advice one to use lipbalm under and lipgloss over so your lips would look juicy and moisturized.

I've not bought Mac lippies in awhile but I believe this is 29sgd..?

Texture : ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ (Drying...)
Pigmentation : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (Actually pretty pigmented. Buildable.)
Lasting power : ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Average? Doesn't really stain your lips afterwards.)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (An average lipstick though now I'm more in love with Korean cosmetics for their price AND quality!)

Cheers,
Domo ❤

Disclaimer : I exchanged 6 Mac empties for this lippie and it does not affect the honesty of my review in any way.

Product Review : Lioele 3D Enamel Gloss in #1 Tangerine Peach

So... I've been having a bad tummy day. Nevertheless I want to make my blog stuffed with product reviews! Ringo's busy with work, her computer is *ahem zombie* and well, she doesn't have as much product because she spends them more on food? ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ But it's okay! You all still have me~

So today's review includes another product I adore. It's the Lioele 3D Enamel Gloss in #1 Tangerine Peach!

Yes I have to repeat this yet again, ignore the clutter at the back. My table is filled with all sorts of nonsense! Let me also clarify why there's no ingredient list. It's too long and hard to capture. It's not a good excuse but if you do own the product you'll see what I mean. Anyways~ back to the product!

My fluorescent lighting washed the color out again, it's way brighter than in the picture! But it's alright, I just wanted to show you the applicator.

Here's a close up! It's a fuzzy flat applicator which makes it really great for precision. Also it picks up a sufficient amount of product so you don't have to violently stick your wand into the tube to get the product!

A swatch on my arm! I hope my picture quality is better now, I've changed camera! If it's worse, I think I'll wanna shoot myself in the head. And I understand how swatches on the arm are always not accurate when you slap them on your lips. So tada! LIP SWATCH OMG!

Left : My original lips / Right : With Lioele 3D Enamel Gloss in #1 Tangerine Peach

Before you condemn my  lips for it's shape, let me tell you I am not confident with my lips either. My bottom lips are fatter and my upper lips are so... Angled?! Also, as I've said, my fluorescent lighting washes the color out a little. It's supposed to be a really bright orangey peachy color, hence the name of the shade Tangerine Peach! I'm pretty sure it's great for spring or summer. In Singapore, there's only summer and more summer so conclusion? It's great all year round! If you don't like bright colors, you can always pick the more nudey shades! They have 5 shades in total.

Other than that, it's really very glossy despite the fact that it doesn't have any shimmers. It really does make my lips appear more "3D" because of how it leaves a glossy sheen on it. It also isn't sticky at all which I love. But if you prefer your gloss to be the sticky and stick forever on your lips kind, this is not for you.

Also this gloss smells heavenly!!! I love Lioele glosses. They usually have this sweet candy-ish scent that I cannot identify. I have more of their gloss which I will review soon :D

It's also SUPER CHEAP. You can get it from Secretive.SG for $4.50 only!

Glossiness : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Shiny / Reflective / BLING!)
Pigmentation : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (One coat is good enough for me but you can definitely build it up)
Lasting power : ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Will die if you eat / drink / talk alot)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (I want to collect them all > . <)

Also if you'd like to try Lioele's gloss, join our giveaway!

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : I am in no way related to Lioele or Secretive.SG. I bought this product with my own money as usual.

Product Review: Etude House Peach Cheek Blusher #5 Happy Peach

This cheek blusher was given to me by Chiharu, and it’s become one of those items I always carry in my make-up pouch. At first glance it seems a bit like a novelty product with not much use, but I was pleasantly surprised by its convenience.

The cheek blusher consists of a blush pan and a foam sponge spring-loaded applicator. It works quite like a stamp does – when screwed tight the spring in the cover is compressed, and when unscrewed, picks up pigment from the pan. The way you use it is to stamp it on your cheeks and blend.

I have got number 5 of the series, named Happy Peach. There are five colors in all, and Happy Peach is one of the most saturated and darkest pigments of them all. I took the shots at night in fluorescent lighting so the photos are a little bluish, but in daylight lighting the blush is a little more reddish.

What I like most about Etude House’s Peach Cheek Blusher is its stamp-like applicator. Though not the most finesse of all applicators, it’s one of the most convenient and definitely useful when you need a quick pick-me-up. I use this for touching up when outside, usually blending it out with (clean) fingers because brushes are usually too bothersome when you’re out.

If you prefer a little more control over your application, you may also use a brush to gently pick up color from the foam sponge itself (I find picking colors from the pan picks up a little too much pigment).

The foam sponge is very fine and picks up color well. For those using color #4 and #5 (Smile Peach, Happy Peach), you may want to be a little light-handed with the application as the powder is pretty pigmented!

You are also able to wash the foam sponge applicator as well. But just make sure that the sponge is fully dry before screwing the cap back in.

As for the powder itself, it’s really finely milled! It has a silk-like texture when applied, and smells faintly of peaches. Unlike most of the other blushes in Etude House, this blush is totally matte! Unfortunately the series isn’t really meant for tanned skin and may look chalky on ladies with darker skin. They lack the more mature shades like berry, and brown as well. But it’s Etude House, so I suppose that is rather expected.

With an array of mostly lighter pinks, this suits fairer ladies who are looking for a cute and portable blush.

This is how it looks like after a light stamp. Obviously you would have to blend the colors out evenly or you would look like some freaky marionette. Personally I like to pull the applicator lightly up my cheeks so that there’s some gradient, and the overall shape of my blush isn’t too circular (I have a rough enough face as it is!).

Texture : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Pretty finely milled!)
Pigmentation : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (Fairly pigmented.)
Application : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (Idiot-proof. But some may want more finesse.)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (Definitely something to try out,  but more suitable for fairer skin.)

Signing off,
Ringo
