Product Review : Maybelline HyperSharp Liner

Once again, it's the time you'd consider an extremely early morning. I feel like Domokie's lacking a certain nutrient, and that is make up reviews! Or maybe it's just me but recently it's been either skincare or events! So here's one to satisfy me, Domokie and all the make up lovers out there~

Before that! Have you voted for us on Ginvera today? If no, PLEASE! Vote for us HERE. If we win, we'll be having an exclusive giveaway for all Domokie fans with.. Dollywink! And the Ginvera products too~ All votes are sincerely appreciated, TIA!

Now presenting...

The very new and exciting...

Cool right! Maybelline's now selling makeup pouch. Okay no I'm kidding. Really. Remember the event I went to at Forever 21 HERE?

It was so nice of Maybelline to send me a press kit for that event that also featured their new HyperSharp Liner!

These are the templates given in the press kit! You can use them to draw funky designs beside your eye area or even on your cheek!

These two are my personal favorites. I'm girly as you all know well enough by now...

Not forgetting the star of this post, the HyperSharp Liner! I really like the choice of colors here. It's so... I don't know how to describe it but the gold cap and words give a pop of color to the usual boring black. Also, I like the color gold. But no over-using too please.

I tried really hard to get the whole of the ingredients list in but... Yes I failed and I apologize. I hope this is good enough.

Here's my favorite part of the liner. I believe you all will find it familiar. You've seen the same kind of brush on the Dollywink and the Pink Brown one! The whole fine pointy little brush is made out of fine bristles that makes it similar to the structure of a paintbrush. They may look similar but this liner has no metal balls to clank within. Sounds weirdly phrased but very true.

Here's the swatches. They look really light but trust me that's just the light bouncing off it! It's as black as my Dollywink one and I really love that fact. Here's a picture of it on my eyes to show it's pretty black. You can draw a thick or thin line depending on the way you hold the brush! Scroll up to see how fine the tip is~ You can line extremely close to your lashline and make it super thin for a very natural look!

You can click to enlarge it further. Yijing's using the liner too!

Click to enlarge! I'm not lying about how pigmented it is!

This is my attempt at doodling with the eyeliner. I love wings and this is sort of like my recreation of those cute wings from animes! It bleeds a little because I have dry shriveled skin. Not on my eyes of course. It works really crisp and precise on my eyes.

At the moment, it sounds like a fantastic product right? Here's the downside. It smudges on me because I have really oily lids. I've tried using a primer underneath, powdering it like crazy... But it still smudges on me. However, let me state at this point that my lids are one of the worst kind out there, anything that's NOT liquid cannot stay on me and even those that are liquid might not stay on me. I would suggest people who doesn't have SUPERBLY EXTREMELY oily lids to try this. Or swatch it when you swing by Watsons :) It retails at Watsons for $19.90 if I am not wrong!

Texture: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Very pigmented and doesn't take a long time to dry)
Application: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (As mentioned, I love such applicators. Smooth, clean and crisp lines!)
Lasting power: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (A little bit of smudging but I'm just very anal towards any smudges at all.)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (I think it's worth a shot, considering how it's way more affordable and available than Dollywink! I think this is a great dupe!)

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : This liner was sent to me by Maybelline as part of their press kit. I received it because I attended the event that they were the official make up sponsors of. Once again, this will never affect the honesty of my reviews.

Have you always had problems with finding your perfect job? Often, we're told to email our resumes before going down for an interview and many times, we may not even get the chance to fully demonstrate our abilities but we're already "eliminated".

Take me for instance, I really want to be a singer, though we don't exactly send resumes for that but how can my potential employers hear me on paper/email resumes? Or if I'd like to be a MUA, wouldn't it be better if I can show them my skills somehow?

And now presenting your savior and mine...

After those gigantic chunk of words, here's something that you may be interested to actually participate in!

The visumé wars have begun!

Prevview.com has declared an official Visumé War in Singapore. We call upon everyone from the age of 18-35* to step into the professional battle field, in a quest to differentiate yourselves – it’s talent vs talent, Visumé vs Visumé!

Unlike any other video showdown, this war appeals to every jobseeker’s most basic struggles. Entry is simple and the prizes, amazing. Whether you are looking to get your hands on a beautiful iPad2 or a job position [or both!] with our participating partners, this is competition for you.

The power to conquer is in your hands!

All you need to do is put together a Visume – what we at Prevview call Video Resumes – that will show and tell us why you would make a great employee. You can sing, dance, rap, produce a movie or even sell a brick. Be it creative or professional, do it your way and boldly express your best self.

50 prizes to be won!**

43 participants from Category A and Category B who have received the highest People's Choice scores will receive $10,000 worth of attractive prizes. Seven out of all the participants the Special Category will be placed in amazing job positions at the participating company of their choice [Winners are subjected to the discretion of our participating partner].

*The competition is open to anyone in any country. However, collection of prizes will be done in the Singapore Prevview office.
**Please refer to their Assessment Criteria for more information.

Now because I had some problems with the attachments, here are my own tips for my beloved readers!

DOs :

SMILE - Always appear amiable because personally I feel that you'll look more approachable and it'll warm up the people looking at your visumé.

SELL YOURSELF - Your abilities, your talents, the many different languages you can speak, or even the different kinds of programs you can use! Anything that makes you unique, anything that makes you stand out from the others.

BE NEAT AND TIDY - Don't film your untamed hair! We don't want to see yellow teeth either! Always remember to look presentable and DON't film with a messy background! You don't want to expose yourself to the entire world!

DON'Ts :

RAMBLE - Don't go on and on and on and on non-stop. Remember to pause when appropriate and stay related to the topic on hand!

VULGARITIES : Major no-no. First impression always counts and you don't want to come off as an "Ah beng / Ah lian". If you tend to be a frequent user of such words, remember to write a script and preferably stick to it so the words won't fly out. Otherwise, remember to cut out that part!

SINGLISH : I'm not saying it's a crime. But imagine if you were to speak like this.

"Errrr hello, my name is erm, Chiharu. I tell you hor, I am a very passionate blogger. EVERYDAY also blog one leh. Advertorials? No problem la, sup sup soi. I very li hai one. I tell you ah.  I AM THE BEST OF THE BEST AH. Cannot find a better person than me liao."

Will you hire someone like that to be your ambassador? I don't think so.

End of tips! I'm wishing all those that decided to declare war the best of luck! The prizes are indeed attractive and I hope my readers can get it too!

Love,
Chiharu ❤

A Ringo A Day: SQ's Face

A while ago, one of our colleagues had to leave for NS, and this was what happened to the whiteboard two weeks after:

All in good-natured fun, of course~ Haha have I told you guys that I love my workplace? (Okay I have already done that like 100++ times already, haven't I?)

Super random post, but I couldn't resist... : 0

And following the words of Dave Eggers, a disclaimer: "Any resemblance to persons living or dead should be plainly apparent to them and those who know them."

Event : Glam me up with Style Session with Shunji Matsuo!

Okay. Here goes. I've always wished for a hair sponsor because well, I AM JEALOUS OF TSURIKI WHO HAS ONE! And I want awesome hair too but then I understand how new Domokie is... And I gave up hope :( So guess how excited I was when Tsuriki invited me to my very first hair related event! Best of all? It's at the famous Shunji Matsuo hair salon~

I believe this is Coleen, giving a little speech and inviting...

Mr Shunji Matsuo in! He's actually VERY photogenic and you'll find out why later.

His mini presentation on the kinds of hairstyles that are in this season~ Jap wise of course. Personally I really like braids, odango buns and princess fringe! I am mad jealous of Michiyo because she has my dream fringe. And it's something that'd never suit my long face.

He's showing us examples of the trendy styles~

ME LIKEY VERY MUCH.

This is him pointing to a RL example of a perfect oval shaped face I believe.

The different kinds of face shapes! Of course I believe there's more but this is a simple illustration! You have diamond shaped face... Heart shaped face... Many faces.

Nope, those are not rubix cubes! They're hair wax! Recommended by Mr Shunji Matsuo~

Types of combs...

Different types of pins and hair ties...

The very popular bump its!

And how can we forget, hair extensions!!! If you think long hair is hard to maintain, you can always go with extensions. A lot more flexible because you can have many changes with clip ons!

Why did I put this picture up? It's to show how natural extensions can be! Those bangs, are FAKE. Yeaps, they're just clip ons! How awesome is that?

This is a bottle that spritz water. The main focus is the design of the bottle because it enables the hairstylist to easily fit his/her hands around the bottle.

Introducing the hair stylists...

And introducing...

Kaoru! Why must I specially feature her? Because I love her style, it's super feminine and soft.

Her model.

See how soft those curls are? I want them please~

Aww, see how friendly Kaoru is!

Curling her hair...

The easy way to curl hair ourselves, for longer hair babes.

See this girl with a cute bob hair? Wait for her transformation!!!

Step 1 - Remove rollers

Step 2 - Check how it looks like

Step 3 - TEASE LIKE MAD

Step 4 - Clip hair to the back and spray a generous amount of hair spray. I'm really happy I caught the spray in motion :D Plus it actually smells delightful instead of the typical yuck-hairspray-stinks scent~

Step 5 - Start arranging top portion of hair

Step 6 - Smile and you're done!

Remember Kaoru's model?

MAD LOVE THIS HAIRSTYLE.

Wish I were her.

But anyway, I didn't need to be too jealous because it was my turn! We were each assigned to one hairstylist and here's me.

Plain...

Usual no volume boring hair.

Photogenic right? After my hair was styled to make me look *ahem cute* younger, Mr Shunji Matsuo took a picture with me!

I'm sorry but I have to use the word cute here. See his million-dollar smile~

But he felt that... I could be cuter!

I've mentioned that I love hearts before right? Here's me with 9 stalks of hearts in my hair xD

I feel like I should suddenly break into a dance and sing some Korean songs at the same time. BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THE LEAD ACTRESS/DANCER OF A MV!

Sorry for the spam of me, Ringo had 3 stalks in her hair too!

Cute also right?

Himeko with her amazingly detailed hairstyle.

Looks like... A flower. Lotus? Rose?

AND THE SUPER CUTE AND YOUNG LOOKING MICHIYO T,T

I want her odango ~~~

Tsuriki's tai tai hairstyle...

With her hairstylist!

Every blogger returned home happily with a bag of goodies! I'll talk about those in another post because this one is way way way too long~

Really random, but since this is a hair related post, I shall be shameless and ask... WILL ANYONE BE DOMOKIE'S HAIR SPONSOR? #slapsmyself

Signing off for now and will be back soon with something else!

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤
