Read on to find out more about my experience at London Weight Management. Let's just shorten it to LWM.
One random afternoon, I received a call from a V in LWM. Supposedly, I won a free treatment from them via some Facebook contest so she arranged for my appointment to be at 7pm at the Woodlands Civic Center outlet. I was also told that I can bring a friend along. Do note that she confirmed for me to get my free TREATMENT on the day itself.
So yes on the day of my appointment, I went down to Woodlands Civic Center. While I was walking there with Ringo, I received a call from V again asking me where I was. Naturally I told her that we were in Woodlands and will reach the outlet soon. Guess what? She gave me a HUH? And told me my appointment was actually in BUGIS instead! Exhibition of poor management 1. In the end she told me she'd transfer the appointment to the Woodlands outlet so we continued our way there.
Finally, we arrived at our destination. Oh you've gotta love what we didn't know was coming. They told us that V only told them 1 person was coming so basically, Ringo came for nothing. Yea she let me go ahead because she's skinny and I'm a fat lump. Exhibition of poor management 2.
We proceeded to a room where a consultant named B attended to us. Mind you we had to wait really long for EVERYTHING. And then after a long while, B told us that another room was available so Ringo can be attended to at the same time. We'll give our experience one by one beginning with mine(Chiharu) because I got started first.
CHIHARU'S EXPERIENCE
I was led to a room to take my height and weight. Then I was told that I'm supposedly overweight. After a quick google search, I'm pretty sure I'm of the ideal weight. But fine, I just look plump so I'll go with the fact that I'm overweight. She then proceeded to make me wait in the consultation room so that she can grab a camera.
While waiting, I snapped these pictures.
Their ampoules.
Strange, peculiar structure with strands of hair
Posters telling people how successful their clients are in losing weight.
Even more.
A food pyramid.
Now at this point of time I was getting seriously bored. MAYBE, they had to go down to Courts to buy a new camera or something, else why would it take so long!!!
Okay, wait wait wait. Just waste my precious time waiting there while I could be reviewing something on my blog. AND FINALLY SHE RETURNED. And then I had to strip down to my bra and undies. We shall skip the awkwardness and move on with my experience. She has kids okay, so she seemed so motherly while explaining to me, telling me my fatty parts where I should be reduced in size. Pictures were taken. Then it all began. No more motherly figure, only sales person.
Sales person who has POOR knowledge. I don't know how many people fell for her explanation but let me reveal the truth. I am someone with irregular menses. So once she heard that, she begin to accuse my irregular menses of being the culprit behind my fats. According to her, menses is dirty blood. So when my menses is irregular and I fail to shed the dirty blood monthly, toxins will accumulate in my body and make me fat, give me darkened armpits and butt. Excuse me, I'm a biology student. So I asked what has that blood got to do with toxins?! She then raised another example. She told me to imagine it like Nasi Lemak. Irregular menses is like eating a packet of Nasi Lemak and not passing it out. Can you imagine my head with the dozens of ??? around it? Furthermore, she told me she had bad skin during her pregnancy because she did not have menses for 9 months so all the toxins are kept in her body.
I'm not going to flip my Biology book and spam you with details but the blood is NOT DIRTY. Sure it stinks but that is because it has come into contact with the oxygen in the air! This blood is actually supposed to be our uterus lining and provides support for the baby, along with oxygen and nutrients if you get pregnant. Also, breakouts during pregnancy is NOT caused by the lack of menses!!! It is because of the hormonal changes during pregnancy! I'm seriously wondering if LWM trains their staff before putting them out. Such an embarrassment to woman because even a quick google search shows that thinking that menstrual blood is dirty is a myth, something only the older generation believe in. People do not be intimidated and fooled into thinking that irregular menses makes you fat okay. Kindly google a little about it so that you will not be tricked.
After NOT clarifying my doubts, she proceeded to force me to buy the treatments. She kept asking me my budget. Telling me there's student price. Telling me this half price promotion is only for today. COME ON LWM, I'm here to experience the treatment I won. Also, I have not tried a single sh*t and YOU WANT ME TO SPEND HUNDREDS/THOUSANDS on your treatments? For goodness sake, even a bottle of expensive serum at Tangs has a tester. If you can claim to guarantee us a loss of blah blah blah cm and blah blah blah kg, why are you so afraid to let us try the treatment first before trying to sell us anything?! So I told her that I at least have to try it out first before purchasing. Her attitude changed immediately. She told me there's no time for treatment anymore because we came late. Hell it was the LWM people that schedule us okay, now you're telling me there's no time? You're awesome.
RINGO'S EXPERIENCE
The service is such a turn off. She arranged another day for me and I went to find Ringo. Now let me relate Ringo's experience to you. Basically, Ringo got attended to by a new consultant. She overheard their conversation telling the consultant to try and attend to Ringo because she's new and need more experience. Similarly, Ringo took her height and weight measurements. The best part? According to their table, she is UNDERWEIGHT. They have no business ethics. She still tried to hard sell Ringo into signing their slimming package. Like what?! So does this mean LWM encourages underweight people to not only continue being underweight but they should slim down even further? My best friend should be reduced to skin and bones?
The new consultant also related a steam room effects to reverse osmosis of a potato. Like what, because our body has toxins and a steam room doesn't, the toxins will reverse osmosis out of our bodies and we will become slimmer and healthier?! Steam room makes you SWEAT. Sweating is like detoxing. Which is why exercising gives you good skin. Not reverse osmosis. Poor knowledge AGAIN.
Ringo was quite peeved already. She hinted to the person that she wants to see the service standards first before signing anything. The person let out a mocking smile. To me it was a mocking smile because she was telling B that Ringo wanted to see their service with a sarcastic tone. No business ethics, poor service, poor management, lousy attitude, what can possibly be worst? Oh Ringo didn't get to try anything either because there was "no time". So yea she was arranged to return the same day as me. We went out of the room and saw this.
Yea, so true. A paying customer totally requires THREE of LWM's people to be sitting down and joking around with her. This is where our "time" went to? They are not free to attend to us because we didn't pay.
Slack, joke around, laugh, use iPhone. LWM has very busy staffs.
Mind you I was not holding a spy cam or anything. My camera can be seen clearly. But then again, we didn't pay so no one gives a sh*t about us.
Our ratings for London Weight Management? It can't even be rated. It has to be the poorest of all ratings. ZERO stars. Let me summarize all the reasons why they deserve ZERO stars.
- Poor management
- Lousy service
- Bad attitude
- Hard selling
- No knowledge of what they are doing
- No business ethics
We are never returning. And for all those who "won" themselves a free treatment, you have been warned. I will be sharing this experience with everyone I know. Needless to say, we never returned for the "free treatment" because we sure as hell do not want to experience ROUND TWO of this. I hope this post will help those who are intending to head down to London Weight Management and not let them be fooled by weird myths.
P.S. We're not the only ones who experienced this. I won't name the bloggers but T and H had a bad experience at the AMK Jubilee outlet too.
Should LWM feel the need to contact us to follow up on this matter, please email to Domokie@gmail.com
Love,
Chiharu ❤
