Product Review : Kinohimitsu BB Drink

Hi my Domokies! Apparently my kick to Ringo has been unsuccessful because I'm back and she's not! She's still busy with work unfortunately but I've managed to date her for Glee the 3D movie! Mega excited and I can't wait to see Lea! She's my idol~ Her voice is absolutely incredible!

Must not let review post mutate into Gleeky post! I shall gleek out in another post so that those who are not interested in that aspect can sit out on it!

The Kinohimitsu BB Drink!

So what's this BB drink all about?

The ingredients list as usual! I was posed with a question some time ago with regards to the bird nest in this BB drink. Logically, if you wanted to drink bird nests, why should you get this instead of those normal bird nest drink?

Well the bird nest powder you see in the ingredients list isn't just like any other bird nest. It's HYDROLYZED bird nest.

"Hydrolyzed bird nest is a Japan-patented ingredient (Patent No.: JP2003-095961; JP2005-206547; JP2002-068988). Bird’s Nest is rich in Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), sialic acid (200 times higher than royal jelly), amino acids and minerals which are essential to promote skin cell regeneration, enhance skin healing and promote youthful-looking skin. It is produced via an enzymatic process at a small molecule size for effective and optimum absorption without using any chemicals and bleaching agents." - Taken from Kinohimitsu.

I was also rather mystified at the presence of chicken cartilage in the ingredients list. I know what it is but I had no idea what its purpose was! Let me enlighten all of you now. Chicken cartilage is a source of Hyaluronic Acid!!! ━━Σ(ﾟДﾟ|||)━━ I did not know that either! Now we've all learnt something haven't we? If ya'all need a more elaborate explanation of what Hyaluronic acid is, drop by the Kinohimitsu website to take a look!

Okay I don't want to blabber on and on about the ingredients list when you can see more detailed information on their website. I'm sure that you can see for yourselves all the different goodies in the ingredients list.

Personally I prefer consuming this at night on an empty stomach because firstly, I think it'll absorb better. Secondly, all the collagen and bird nest can work its magic at night during the skin regenerating/recovery period! Lastly, I also think that BB drink + Sleep = The ultimate winning combo as you get your dosage of rest too. So yes, drink it at night, let your skin rest, recover and regenerate in your beauty sleep!

I wanted to pour it into a shot glass for a nicer picture but I lost it so a wine glass will have to do! I love mine chilled for a tasty treat before I head off to bed.

It took me a lot of courage to put this photo up. It's my defenseless, makeup-less, circle-lens-less face!!! And both the before and after shots are taken in the morning while I'm still groggy and giving this weird wonky smile + eyes. However for the sake of Domokie, here's my face. Don't scream :)

Say hello to my groggy face. Okay all wonkiness aside, if you look at the area between my nose and my mouth, you'll see a little acne scar there. And once you see that, compare the before and after picture and you'll know it's fading! Point proven, it does speed up the healing process of the skin :D Of course this effect came with daily consumption of the product. Another thing I noticed that was a lot more obvious was that my dry lips went poof! Finally, days when my lips aren't cracked or peeling~

If it weren't for the before and after pictures, I wouldn't have really noticed but as you can see, my after picture looks more radiant than that of the before. Although the lighting is slightly different, I look more awake in the after photo. I think it helps with reducing the yellow dull complexion for to really see the effects, you really have to stick to consuming this regularly.

In simple summarized terms, this product works for me. BUT, I have to drink a bottle a day for better results!

What does this product taste like? This is a really hard one to describe. Initially I was afraid it'd taste like cherry juice but I was hoping for it to be like your usual sweet bird nest drink. It turned out as something like no other. It's sweet, fruity with that slight hint of a medicinal taste you get with drinks that has collagen in it. For the strangest reasons, it actually tastes pretty appealing to me and like I've mentioned above, it's like tasty, healthy and non-fattening treat for me to enjoy before I head off to bed.

A box of 6 bottles costs $39.90 so it's about $6.65 per bottle. Honestly, I think it's kinda expensive. Yet at the same time, if you have a stable income, I think you should get this. You only need to consume a bottle a day for 6 days if you're a first time user. Afterwards, for maintenance, you can drink a bottle every three days so just scrimp about $2.20 a day and you can afford this drink! Cut down on your snacks and fizzy drinks, get this healthy one instead. I've seen this at various Watsons outlet and you can get it there so you can earn points with your member card ;)

I can't judge this like I would do with our normal rating system but if I had to give it stars, this will be FOUR stars. One off for the pricing but other than that I have nothing else to complain about this product!

Product Review : Hada Labo Firming + Lifting Lotion

Hello hello! What a terribly warm afternoon it is! I'm camping at home with a cup of very sour self-made lemon tea. I was intending to do a mask review but I realized the deadline for this is earlier!

Okay but let's proceed shall we, before I digress further and spam pictures of Hello Kitty. On an extremely warm afternoon similar to today, the postman came knocking on my door! I didn't see it coming and I was super excited. If the postman wouldn't give it to me I would've robbed it from her xD

The Sample Store!!! I swear I love TSS okay, especially Elfaine because she's just so adorable. Have you met her before? If you have, you're sure to know what I'm talking about! Nono, this post isn't about her though as much as I like her, it's about...

This beautiful red bottle! The Hada Labo Firming + Lifting Lotion. Before I confuse any one, this is not a moisturizer or cream. It's what we more commonly know as a toner. I must admit, I'm a proud owner of their regular Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion and I actually stupidly thought it was a moisturizer before I realized my mistake. The previous one came in a white-ish bottle and I actually like this one more. It's such a rich vibrant shade of red, totally adds life to my messy table.

In the above picture, you can see the 3 key ingredients of this product. For collagen, I don't see a need to explain further! KNOWING WHAT COLLAGEN DOES FOR YOUR SKIN IS A MUST. So please research it yourself to imprint it in your head forever!!!

Now let me move on to the Retinol Vitamin A. I don't really want to throw all sorts of big words at my readers and confuse people, so let me try and summarize it in the simplest way possible. It's basically an ingredient that helps with anti aging and helps in maintaining the health of your skin. And why would our skin respond well to this particular ingredient? It's because the molecular structure of the Retinol Vitamin A is tiny enough to get into the lower layers of skin. So what's below? Collagen and elastin! This particular product is also proven to help with skin texture/tone/color, pigmentation, fine lines, winkles and... Our skin’s hydration level! See how this ingredient is significant now?

This product also contains the ever so familiar Sodium Hyaluronate. What is it? Sodium Hyaluronate, when applied topically, reaches deep into your dermis to combine with and maintain moisture. Quick fact: Sodium Hyaluronate (which has a smaller molecular size than Hyaluronic acid) can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. Directly copied from Ringo's post HERE.

Enough of the words!

I tried to capture the ingredients list but... Yea, it's not that easy to do on such a surface. But all yer sensitive babes have nothing to fear! This product is FOUR FREE. Wtbbq is four free?! Okay, I don't mean that as for free, it's really four free. Fragrance free, mineral oil free, alcohol free and colorants free! Geddit now? ;) Find out how you can try this out FOUR FREE later on in the post~~~

Here's what the product looks like. A slightly milky liquid.You don't have to use this with a cotton pad, just drip 2-3 drops onto your palm and pat gently onto your face.

Absorbs nicely and makes my skin less scaly! After my chunk of words above, if I say that this product doesn't do anything for me, I'd be lying through my teeth. So let me state my real life experience. Firstly, I've been breaking out during the time I tried this. And because I've been breaking out, I decided to let my skin rest. Yes it's my personal weird remedy for breakouts. I try to apply as little stuff on my skin as possible, even skincare.

So that was it in my skincare routine. Just this bottle of lotion and a pimple cream. Yes amazingly, my skin did not shrivel up and become a raisin. So I think that's the best way to prove hydration. I personally don't recommend doing it to yourself, what I feel is best for me does not mean it will be best for you. So please continue using your serum and moisturizer afterwards!!! However for first timers, do note that this will be a little sticky at first but it'll disappear once you finish patting it in. True to it's words, there's no scent at all.

My skin is definitely more plump after using this and skin that is more plump also leads to the skin being more firm and taut. I haven't really seen visible lifting effects yet so I'm guessing I need to use this bottle for a longer period of time before seeing that effect!

Event x Review : Bio-essence "The Biggest Loser in 7 Days" Slimming Challenge and Product Reviews

As you all might have known by now, Chiharu and I attended the Bio-essence's challenge this month and Chiharu won! I didn't lose as much inches as she did, but I had quite a good experience with it as well, so here's my take on it. (2X Strength, 2X posts!)

So on 8th of May, all of us went back to get our measurements taken.

And not my leg lar~ This also belongs to another blogger, who cannot be named. : x

And the results were astonishing.

Showing off how much flab has been lost from our flabby arms.

And the winners all received a generous amount of Bio-essence products (especially Chiharu who won first place)! They each lost 12.5cm, and 10.5cm respectively. ; A ;

So on to this miraculous product:

Bio-essence gave us two products for review: the Celebrity's Choice Inchloss Shower Scrub and Celebrity's Choice Inchloss Body Cream (Extra Strength). 

For more details on the products themselves, you may visit Bio-essence's website or Chiharu's review on them. (For my post today I'll focus more on my personal experience instead!)

I am considered rather thin (slightly underweight in terms of BMI), but even so, there are areas which would benefit from more toning (tummy and thigh for me especially). For those looking to lose weight, the Celebrity's Choice Inchloss series on its own does not promote weight loss, but rather helps you to tone up your flabs to achieve a slimmer silhouette.

And all in all, it works! I'm rather surprised by the results actually. People even asked me if I have dieted after that week even though in actuality, I've been splurging on buffets and food (more on that later). : x  My thighs and arms didn't lose much inches because I've been exercising regularly, but my tummy lost quite a bit.

The products contain ingredients like ginseng, ginger, capsicum, caffeine and pineapple, so you would think they might stink (I hate the smell of pineapples especially), but surprisingly, both of them smell quite pleasant. In fact, they didn't smell spicy at all, and instead was a mild floral sweet scent. 

If you have a sensitive nose like me though, don't take too hard a whiff at it! Like Chiharu mentioned, you might sneeze (or worse, get a bit of a runny nose).

I have sensitive skin too so I was more cautious with the application amount. For those who are concerned, do a patch test first (especially for the body cream)! The shower scrub didn't burn at all for me though. I think it actually depends on your body heat and surrounding temperature, so experience may differ. Be careful not to let it run to your sensitive areas though! It exfoliates the skin quite well, and aids in the absorption of the body cream later.

For the body cream, the heat level was definitely a lot higher. First-time users may want to apply a lesser amount first to get used to the heat. For people with sensitive skin, your skin may itch a little, but be careful not to scratch it! Instead, take a small towel and gently wipe the cream off and apply a smaller amount. 

The heat actually comes on gradually, so if at first you don't experience any heat sensation, wait a while before applying more. Don't be 'kiasu', if you apply too much, the heat sensation may actually be too much to handle!  The heat sensation actually lasts for the whole day (depending on the amount you put), and is dependent on your body heat and the environment's temperature. So for those who work indoors in air-conditioned offices, there will be a lesser heat sensation compared to if you were playing sports right under the sun. 

Additionally, take note to not touch your eyes/ nose area after application. For those who wear contacts, put them on first before you apply these products! I don't think any of us really want our eyes to burn for real.  

Scent : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (It's not the most fragrant product, but hey, it's a slimming body scrub!)

Burning sensation : ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ (It's so minute I think I might have just imagined it.)

Effectiveness : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (It's really good for exfoliating, but get the Body Cream for best results.)

The Inch Loss Body Cream EXTRA Strength :

Scent : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (Chiharu loved it for its fruity scent, but I prefer milder fragrances~)

Event x Review : Bio Essence "The Biggest Loser in 7 Days!" Slimming Challenge Results x Product Reviews !

So you've all seen the first post, are you ready for the revelation of the results? I have to warn you first, this is one of the lengthiest post you'll EVER see because it includes the products, the event and what happened after the event!

Let's recap a little bit... If you all remember, on 30th April, Ringo and I attended a workshop held by Bio essence at California Fitness... If you need a little more visual, refer to the post here. Each blogger went home with a set of products from the Celebrity's Choice series that included the newest member of the Celebrity's Choice series.

I present to you from the Celebrity's Choice series, the Inch Loss Shower Scrub and the Inch Loss Body Cream EXTRA Strength!

The two goodies given to us by Bio-essence!

Here are the instructions on how you should use it. Let's move on!

As always, we start from the beginning, in the shower! Which means we will be talking about the shower scrub first.

Here's what Bio-essence says about their scrub :

"A revolutionary product that promotes blood and oxygen circulation while showering for a smoother, firmer and slimmer looking body. It contains Bio Energy Fluid, Bio Mineral Amino Acid Essence, Capsicum, Ginger, Ginseng and Pineapple Essence to stimulate the slimming and firming process while encouraging rapid cell renewal. It also deeply cleanses & exfoliates to remove dead skin cells during shower."

The star ingredients are as seen above in the picture along with their description.

They also have a rating system for the heat level and the firming speed. For the shower scrub, its heat level is rated as 2/5 and the firming speed is at 1/5. It's not a whole lot but then again, how many scrubs out there have this effect?

Moving on, we have the body cream which is to be used after the shower.

 

Once again the star ingredients are as shown in the picture along with the descriptions. For the sake of all our poor eyes, here's what Bio-essence says about their newest member!

As you've noticed, the ingredients are somewhat the same because this series targets the same thing except for their bust cream, and that is to burn the flabs and firm our skin! So then you'll wonder, really? Can this product really give me a slimmer silhouette? I'm sure all of you want a yes. And it is a yes, only if you do have a proper diet and maybe an exercise routine?

Let me share my experience with all of you! I'm a really lazy person. I am seriously like a couch potato because I really can just sit and rot at home the whole day just by watching TV or gaming. Then a miracle happened! This product came into my life. Of course at this point of time, I am a healthier person, I don't gobble down all my food and I refrain from snacking on fatty/junk food. I still didn't exercise though.

I did however use the products diligently day and night. Before I continue with chunks of words, here's what the products look like.

This is the scrub, can you see the tiny beads? It didn't foam a lot in this picture but let me assure you that it foams well in the shower!

My say on the scrub is that, despite all the scary and spicy ingredients, it smells good. It doesn't smell like anything spicy but do be warned that if you have a sensitive nose, you might catch a whiff of the spiciness that isn't very apparent. I don't mean the smell but it's like when you get pepper in your nose, you just sneeze.

I would have to say that the scrub doesn't burn at all? I'm quite thick skin IMHO and I didn't feel any burning despite massaging the product on my body and letting it sit for awhile. I did hear that some other bloggers felt the burning though! Be careful with this product because you don't want this to get into your eyes! Also do note that this is quite liquid-ish in texture so you want to be careful with how much you pour out.

As for the cream, it's to be applied after the shower scrub because if you have dead skin all over, the product wouldn't be able to penetrate as well and it might not be as effective.Similarly, I apply this cream on the areas I want to slim and firm and massage it in. This cream smells lovely, like apples and raspberries! Absorbs really easily for a cream and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. Great multi-tasking product isn't it?

How to massage? After you spread the cream all over, massage in circular motions but focus on moving upwards, or more towards the heart. Why? I don't really know why towards the heart, it's just a tip from the famous Taiwan beauty show "女人我最大". As for the upwards motion, it's because we want it to "defy" gravity! You don't want saggy skin so you have to defy gravity :/ Do take note not to scratch your nose/lips or rub your eyes after applying this cream because trust me, it burns. I was one of the clumsy ones who did that!!! Also, you can put this on your booties like I did but never your boobies!

FYI, this product is rated 5/5 for both heat level and firming speed! This is one hot mama so don't apply too much at one go! Slowly build the layers like you would with a foundation xD For me it usually burns for around 1 hour before subsiding. However it's meant to have a 24hour burning effect. It could be me being thick skin though.

If you all remembered, the product claims that you will lose 1/2 inch in 7 days. And after 7 days, you'll be amazed at how many inches I lost. I'm not going to put my stats up here because I am a fatty and I don't need anyone else to know o(╥﹏╥)o

Basically, I lost about 1/2 an inch for each of my limbs except my right thigh which only lost about 0.2 inch. My tummy however lost about 3 inches!!! Sum them up and I'll have lost about 5 inches within only 7 days! Needless to say, I won! ＼（＾ ＾）／ Personally I really feel that the reason I lost was because I'm the fattest blogger. More fats = more flabs = more inches to lose!

This is my spicy ramen that isn't kidding at all. Me and Tsuriki ordered this and nearly burst into flames! She didn't finish hers but me trying to act hero and burn my tummy finished the entire bowl!

I think this is Yijing's ramen. I was so hungry and obsessed with my own bowl of food that I totally did not see other's food ( > . < )

I believe this is either Ringo's ramen or Himeko's. Cannot blame me that I forgot which is which, I am a PIG.

Himeko and Tsuriki wanted to eat Cold Stone's Ice cream afterwards so the rest of us stood outside and camwhore in natural lighting! Ringo looks blur!

I am attempting to be cute but I think I totally failed.

This is my personal favorite. I never expected myself to look decent *ahem cute* in specs because I've always hated them since young~ So in this pic I koped Ringo's specs and thus she isn't looking in the right direction!!! I think.

Product Review : Avalon Organics Essential Lifting Serum (Tried & Tested)

Today I'm going to be reviewing a product that was sent to me by Watsons for testing. (Thank you Watsons!)

This product is called the Avalon Organics Essential Lift Lifting Serum. It comes in a 15ml bottle and can be found in Watsons.

When I first received the serum, I noticed that it was formulated with a minimum 70% organic content and does not contain parabens, harsh preservatives, synthetic colours or fragrances. It's also good to know that this serum is made from 100% vegetarian ingredients, and that no animal testing is done!

Here's how it works.

The serum is supposedly recommended for dry/mature skin but I personally think that oily/combination skin can use this as well as this serum is light and absorbs really quickly. It pumps out as quite a firm gel but spreads easily on the skin. It dries a little sticky but no worries for once it is fully absorbed all you get is smooth soft skin. On the plus side, it smells like lavender when it's first applied so it's really calming for bedtime. It however gradually evolves to a slight vegetable-ish scent.

It's no miracle product but there are definitely visible improvements after using it for a week. Result's are not that obvious to the naked eye which is why I included before and after pictures for reference. I have more saggy/flabby skin at my jaw area and an extremely wrinkly neck. Do not run away screaming in shock! :)

For the jawline, there is some very very slight firming. I do mean slight, but there's more! See the picture below.

I'm guessing that this product actually works better on my neck, I'm not sure why but it could be because my jawline is just really fatty. As you can see, the wrinkles are quite significantly reduced as compared to before.

In short, this product works! It saved my neck and I'll continue using up the whole bottle. As for repurchasing, I'd definitely consider because it honestly isn't very expensive? It retails at $31.90 for a 15ml bottle and if I'm not wrong, can only be found at Ngee Ann City Watsons!
