Product Review : MEISHOKU Detclear Fruits Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly

ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR IT!!! I've had people tell me before that CURE aqua gel is SUPER expensive, it retails at $42 if you didn't know. They asked me for alternatives, I had none. Now I've finally found one, recommended to me by Tsuriki! Thanks <3~

It works like CURE...

Looks almost like CURE...

95% similarity to CURE...

The best part?!

It costs only...

It's only available at SASA but you can get yours from <To be revealed at end of post> for only... $20.90~ Okay the difference isn't a lot but $2 can buy you a drink or an ice cream :D Must scrimp whenever you can okay! SMRT has sent in application to up up up our transportation fees T_T $2 can get you on a bus / MRT!!!

Okay back to the topic on hand, introducing the...

MEISHOKU Detclear Fruits Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly! The packaging is sooooo cheerful isn't it? So bright, colorful and summery! It looks like fruit punch. I chose the one with mixed fruit fragrance but there's also a berry fragrance one available. This is where it is unlike CURECURE is fragrance free so sensitive skin might wanna do a patch test first. I personally think this is very mild, just like CURE but then again I don't have sensitive skin. We'll wait for Ringo to try this and we'll know how extremely sensitive skin reacts to this!

Here's the ingredients list for ya'all!
"Water, glycerin, carbomer, steartrimonium chloride, glycosyl trehalose, hydrogenated starch hydrolysate,fragrance,lactobacillus/pear juice ferment filtrate, butylene glycol, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) oil, vaccinium myrtillus extract, salix nigra (willow) bark extract, saccharum officinarum (sugarcane) extract, malic acid, tartaric acid, glycolic acid, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) fruit extract, acer saccharum (sugarmaple) extract, salicylic acid, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, rubus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract"

Gets rid of very SURFACE blackheads only, not the hard, deep set kind. Increase our skin's turnover rate for more boing boing healthy new skin!!! Get rids of melanin and sebum for brighter looking skin!

I hope you can read this, this bottle is so hard to capture.

Ta dang! Looks like CURE right? Kay here's the CURE Review to remind you if you've forgotten! It's a little more milky than CURE though.

Effects wise... Ready?

Feast your eyes on...

MY DEAD SKIN CELLS. Okay not a nice feast. It removes the dead skin cells just like CURE!

But then again, if it's just the fragrance part that's different, shouldn't it be 99% similar to CURE? Sadly no. CURE's a little more concentrated so two pumps will suffice for my entire fat face. This however requires THREE pumps. Personally I don't mind because I love using products that smell great. Do note that CURE seems a little more potent though because more dead skin cells SEEM to come off when I'm using it on my face as opposed to the Detclear one. I have almost zero product loyalty and rotate around all the time! I stuck with CURE because nothing seemed the same but now that I've found a replacement... Heh ;) I also did not experience any tightness after using just this.

I chose this over the Berry one because the scent of this really resembles jelly. Remember the jelly we used to eat while we were still *coughs* young? The triangular shaped one that looks like this.

Image taken from Google Images

Smells almost the same and it's like stuffing your face into a bowl of such jellies!!! Really yummilicious and fruitilicious and enjoyable!!!

L - Before / R - After

See my beautifully brightened and smooth hands!!! (Self praise) Okay to be honest your skin will definitely become brighter and softer because those scaly dead skin cells have been removed! I must ALWAYS emphasize that EVERYONE MUST EXFOLIATE THEIR SKIN, regardless of skin type! I don't care if your skin is sensitive / dry / oily / combination. If you don't exfoliate, all your dead skin cells are just gonna build up layer by layer till they're like brick walls on your face. When that happens, all your skincare will not get absorbed properly so you might as well leave your face to die!!!

Here's the proper steps to exfoliating!

  1. Wet face
  2. Lather with your usual facial foam
  3. Pat your face DRY (IMPORTANT)
  4. Apply 2-3 pumps all over your dry face.
  5. Rub in circular motions gently and wait for all the whitish jelly to appear
  6. Wash it off
  7. Pat dry again
  8. MUST continue with usual skincare routine!

I've had people ask me if they can just slap it all over their face without proper cleansing. The answer is simple. NO. If you don't wash your face first, all the dirt and yuckies are still on your face. So while exfoliating, instead of really removing your dead skin, you are merely removing the dirt that was originally on your face. Then what's the point of exfoliating?

Also, it is extremely important to continue with a good skincare routine because our skin's more tender after exfoliating and must be protected properly. You'll want the soft skin to stay wouldn't you? Personally I recommend masking immediately after exfoliating for super awesome absorption of the goodies.

If you hate to fork out a whopping $42 for CURE, you might want to give this a shot. You can get this from Blingalways for $20.90! Or if you really can't wait, you can head down to your nearest SASA and get this for $22.90~

Affordability : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Chip chip cheap!)
Texture : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Light and jelly-ish, spreads well.)
Scent : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (I LOVE THIS SCENT)
Effectiveness : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (A little less dead skin comes off)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (4.8 actually, 0.2 off because of the slightly less effective part. Otherwise all's good!)

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤

Product Review : Bihada Ichizoku Cheek (Pink)

So we've been lacking a little in the review department lately just because I haven't really been dressing up so I couldn't use much of my make up. I recently opened a blusher that I bought during the SASA sales. And did you know, Yishun SASA is still having their atrium sale?  So you can go shopping! GSS is around the corner and the word sales is EVERYWHERE!

Let's get back to the review shall we? It's the Bihada Ichizoku Cheek (Pink). I know it's somewhat weirdly phrased but that's actually printed on the back of it's packaging. It's just a cheek color / blush.

I love Japanese stuff, they give me the feeling that they put much effort into the product's outer packaging too. It's a nice touch for our eyes and the product is awesome too! Read on~

See! This is what I mean by the "Bihada Ichizoku Cheek (Pink)"! I have to admit though, the description is true to it's words. It really has a smooth texture and stuff like that but I'll get to that later. I think at this point, the "how to use" portion can be edited slightly.

Usually I'd recommend a brush for your blush. And I also recommend buffing the blush with a brush. See how it all rhymes? :D But I'm not saying fingers are wrong, I just think it's more hygienic to use a brush and I personally dislike products on my fingers. Fingers however provide a quick fix if you happen to OD on blush.

Also the ingredients list is included for those sensitive skin babes!

After removing that pretty box, you get this little rectangular blush that I quite like because it fits easily in the palm of my hand and... Small stuffs just look cute to me in general. It's not a fingerprint magnet and I love that too because I don't have to keep wiping it clean after each use.

The back of it, don't ask me what it says because I can't read it.

From this angle, I'm quite sure you can see by now that it's not a matte blush. It's not glittery either so you don't to worry about those pesky chunky monkey glitters.

A swatch on my arm. At this point, I have to say that you cannot be fooled by the swatch. It's truly very pigmented but my fluorescent lighting washes it out slightly. However, I think this is more of a coral pink shade than a pure sweet / bubblegum pink. It's quite a warm pink.

After blending, it looks even lighter no thanks to my fluorescent lighting! So while hoping that you can see the color, let me just give all of ya a boost by describing it alongside. Firstly as I've mentioned, it's a nice coral pink. Quite warm toned yet I believe everyone should be able to pull it off nicely regardless of skintone. It has a golden sheen to it that isn't obvious in the picture because the shimmer particles was reflecting white light.

When I saw that it gives you a golden sheen, that's exactly what I mean. The shimmer particles are really fine so I'm quite sure it wouldn't enhance any current pore problems nor make you look like a disco ball. Personally it gives me a nice flush that looks really natural and cute at the same time. Do be warned that this blush is very pigmented to I suggest patting the brush on the blush instead of swiping it across. I do tap my brush a little before patting it on my cheeks as it really picks up a lot of powder.

All in all, I really liked it. I cannot remember the exact price of this blush but it's pretty affordable especially during a sale! If you're looking for a new blusher, why not give this one a go? Also it's made in Japan and it sets my heart at ease because I believe in Japan!!! This is my very first Bihada Ichizoku product and I wish that previously I had the opportunity to try their mask :( I missed that chance and am jealous of the other bloggers who tried out the mask from Bihada Ichizoku!!!

Texture : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Once again, so finely milled!!!)
Pigmentation : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★(A little hard to capture due to my lighting but I promise you, it packs a punch)
Application : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Really easy, pat, tap, pat and blend!)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Another Japanese blusher in my love list! Such a cute flush it gives me~)

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : I am not related to SASA nor Bihada Ichizoku, I simply love Japanese products so I bought this with my own money.

Product Review : Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint

Okay, another review! Lovely isn't it? I wish I had tons of posts so that I can do a review spam..?

I just reviewed an eyeliner I didn't quite like, but now here's something I like. I like so many stuff don't I? ||orz

The star for today is the Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint! It's actually available in two colors, this pink one and another red one. Ringo owns this do but heh, I beat her to this review!!! I didn't buy the red one because... I have two reddish tints already and wanted to try pink for a change.

This is what it looks like...

Again, ignore the mess at the back. I have too much stuff and too little space!

Pink and black is quite a pretty combo. At least it's what I like. And did I mention that I ❤ ❤ ? Okay a little confusing, what I mean is that I love heart shapes. And there it is on the bottle! *+1 Ding ding ding~*

Yes, I have a pore-ish table and everything!!!

Comes along with a brush applicator similar to that of Benefit's Posietint. Difference? Posietint is wayyyyyy more expensive! Just because this tint is cheaper doesn't mean it's not good. Just take a look at the swatches to see for yourself.

Omg pretty pink is ❤ ~

Of course, we have to remember that tints will tint our skin differently. This product can be used on both cheeks and lips. And we all have different skin tones and lip pigmentations so what you see on me may not be what you see on yourself.

This product smells like cherry indeed and that's not something I personally like. I'm afraid of cherries /.\ Especially those on cakes!!! So from the swatch above, you can see that this tint gives a nice pink tint to my skin that isn't overwhelming. More like a cute flush! I know most people flush red but trust me, I flush pink. I think I have really thick skin because I have never blushed in my life. Except once when I was a teensy but intoxicated. That's a good thing to me because I won't have a tomato red drunk face. xD

This tint is very blendable but at the same time you have to be quick. I'm very afraid of this drying up when I'm not done blending so what I do is I first draw an X on one cheek, blend completely and then I repeat for the other cheek. I usually do this before powder so that if I go overboard, the powder will tone it down. As for lips, I just brush it on and dab with my fingers for a nice sheer pink.

Thumbs up for a cheap and affordable product! Where to buy it? Sasa has it, John Little has it, but if you're feeling really lazy, you can also get it online from Secretive.SG! It's on discount now and it's only $9.90. Cheaper than Etude House and most definitely cheaper than Benefit!!!

Pigmentation : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (It's good enough for my NC20 skin!)
Scent : ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Cherries... Not my thing~)
Lasting power : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Stays put till you remove it)
Overall : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (It's only $9.90 so why not get it?)

Love,
Chiharu ❤

Disclaimer : I bought this :D My own money of course! And I'm not related to SASA / John Little / Secretive SG. I'm just sharing where you can get good deals!

Sasa Haul: Long Overdue But Still Feeling The Aftermath

My deepest apologies for not posting the past few days! My computer hasn't been working well the past few days, so I haven't got the chance to blog at all this week. : c Right now, I'm using my brother's laptop to post first, but hopefully my computer would revive itself miraculously like the decade-old Frankenstein that it is (with my father's help added, of course).

The first thing I'll get once I get this month's salary is a new computer. Alas, the world is conspiring against me and is setting up roadblocks wherever I go, in the form of SALES!

Darn.

I've bought quite a bit of junk and trinkets recently, but let's start off with the long overdue Sasa haul:

Clockwise, starting from that bigass box, there’s

Organia White Milk Body Scrub (for sensitive skin) 180g - $13.93
(free Organia Aqua Perfect Magic Hand Clear, 30g)
Maybelline Pulse Perfection Waterproof Vibrating Mascara - $17.94 (UP: $29.90)
Skinlite Cooling Cucumber Pads (for eyes) 10pcs each - $2.95 for 2 packs
Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint (for lips and cheeks) - $9.90
Splash Mineral Eye Sparkle – 2 for $9.90

Total damage (on my side): $54.62

So far, I’ve only tried out the Cucumber Pads (my brother tried them out too) and Eye Sparkles. The Cucumber Pads are simply too cute! I’m a sucker for packaging, so that’s an instant win for me. Plus, it works and smells great (like true blue cucumbers) too.

The Eye Sparkles are a steal at $4.95 a pop. These babies are made from minerals (mica, titanium oxide and the likes) so they’re frigging sparkly and pigmented. I got the chanteuse green and sea blue ones, and you can guess which Chiharu got from there.

And guess what? The Sasa sales may be over, but in their place now is a Watsons sales?! Thank goodness it seems I’ve gotten my shopping fix from the Sasa’s one already, or I’d be spending this month’s pay in advance again (not that I am not already). Watsons is now having an atrium sale at Northpoint for Za, Majolica, Tsubaki, and etc. But more than that, they are having sales for snack food as well.

I was eyeing all the Meiji snacks today, but by the time I finished playing at the arcade, they were already packing up. (*´ο`*)=3

I suppose that means I’m safe for today, though tomorrow is another thing altogether.

Unfortunately I’m terrible at sewing, so let me just staple my pocket back together. (´pωq’)

Signing off,
Ringo
