Konnichiwa minna san! Today I'll be reviewing one of my personal favorites -- Kanebo Kate's Liquid Eyeliner. For those looking for a liner that gives you sharply defined eyes like Mika Nakashima (she uses Kate's eyeliner too!), this is a product to look out for.
Kate Liquid Eyeliner is a highly pigmented liner coupled with a very fine tipped brush that results in beautifully defined eyes. By highly pigmented I really do mean pigmented. Unlike the watery consistency of conventional eyeliner, this liquid liner looks and feel just like premium fountain pen ink fresh from the inkwell (pardon the odd analogy). I own the black colored (BK-1) eyeliner, although this series of liquid eyeliner also comes in a metallic shade of black (BK-3) and brown (BR-1) as well.

I got it from Watsons a while ago, and it retails there at $23.50. It’s one of my favorite liquid liners, as the ink is a matt pure black that does not smudges at all. The thin brush and smooth ink texture ensures a smooth and easy application that is newbie-friendly, so even those who have never tried a liquid eyeliner before should be able to handle this easily. I personally have clumsy fingers, and was new to liquid eyeliners, but managed to master it within a couple of applications. So if I can, you can too! (Seriously, I'm that bad.)
The liner dries relatively fast, is waterproof, smudge-proof and designed for maximum lasting. In fact, this eyeliner is able to last an entire day on my face, with little to no touch-up. However, those with drier eye area might want to consider getting an eye primer as this product tends to flake a little on drier skin, especially if the drawn line is super thin.
It helps that the packaging is sleek and unique as well, and it's one of those makeup essentials that I never fail to put into my makeup pouch. It's very easy to find as well. With its unique shape I can just feel around for it in my makeup pouch and easily locate it. Not that that's much of a product benefit, but darn, I'm a sucker for pretty packaging!

Lasting power: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (may flake on drier skin, but all you need is a touch of eye primer)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (definitely will consider repurchasing)

very wet and dangerous to apply! It went onto my eyelids and thank god they were easily removed with tissue before they dry!
ReplyDeleteThat was probably what prevented me from raging hahahaha
