Product Review: Arimino Peace Freeze Wax

Everything is cute in Japan, even their hair wax. Previously I've reviewed on their sibling series, Spice, and now it's time for some Peace.

Their wax comes in an adorable chocolate + rubix cube like packaging with a PEACE motif in the form of a heart shape on it. I've got the 40g one. The larger size one, which is in a 3 x 3 rubix cube form, is 80g.

No ingredients list unfortunately, bwah.

The texture of this thing is like how you expect a hard wax to be, perhaps a little creamier. And it smells nice! Not as nice as the Spice's one in my opinion, but really decent for a hard wax. I don't really use hard wax since I have long hair, but my brother does, and most of the time, hair wax stinks (they either have that 'hair wax' smell, have too strong of a scent, or like Gatsby's Moving Rubber, have a rubbery scent). This one smells of generic shampoo with a subtle citrus note.

I've tried it on myself to get a feel of it though obviously I can't make full use of it. But I'm a hairwax noob so later on I gave it to my bro.

This hair wax works best on dry, short hair. It doesn't really work as well on damp hair, perhaps because wax resists water? Spread it between your palms or the pads of your fingers (depending on the style you're after) and then style your hair accordingly. The good thing about this wax is that it doesn't leave your hair feeling greasy or sticky at all!

But on the downside, it doesn't have as much holding power as let's say, Gatsby Moving Rubber Spiky Edge. It's able to do curly waves though, and has decent lasting power.

  1. Hi! Thank you so much for this review, I bought this type of gel in Japan the last time I was there and I have been trying to find out the name of it. Thanks!
