Product Review : Maybelline Vibrating Pulse Perfection Mascara

So we included this product in our GIVEAWAY, how can we not review it?

The product I'll be reviewing today is actually supposed to be reviewed by Ringo. However I forgot that her computer has dieded so I shall be an apple for today for this post only! \(^ ^)/

It's the... *DRUM ROLL!!!*

Ta-da! By the way it's supposed to be limited edition too but no worries, we're giving one away for free! Let me get on with the review first.

Why am I showing you this picture? I don't want all of you to be an idiot like me. I kept pressing down on that gold button but my mascara did NOT vibrate!!! Then I panicked thinking my mascara was faulty. And then I realized I'm a dumbo. There's actually a sticker that you have to pull out to activate the batteries. I already tore out the sticker in this picture so this is just a reminder.

This is what the brush looks like. A little too far to see clearly. So scroll down!

A teensy bit out of focus but you cannot blame me, I tried my best. At least you can see the wand quite clearly? It's not really made out of those bushy bristles but more of a rubbery plastic applicator? And I really like how the wand curves.

Can you see? The middle part of the wand is sorta "thinner" so they can catch your lashes better. Of course other than showing you the brush I can't really show you the vibrating part.

Now let me show you our eyes!

Ringo's eyes first :

Left with mascara, right without, looking straight ahead.

Left with mascara, right without, looking downwards.

Left with mascara, right without, looking upwards.

So as you can see, Ringo's lashes are really long AGAIN. These pictures were taken with a really light coat of mascara okay. It was almost midnight and we both had work the next day so we applied the mascara very hurriedly. At the very least we did manage to coat our lashes evenly! And as you can see from the looking upwards picture, no clumps!

Chiharu's eyes :

Left with mascara, right without, looking straight ahead.

Left with mascara, right without, looking downwards.

Left with mascara, right without, looking upwards.

Very obviously, this mascara gives me the length I really really need. From the picture of me looking upwards, you can see that there's no clumps too! See how LONG they are! Also pardon the redness okay, I just washed my face before hand so usually I'm reddish.

I understand the curls look a little wonky but remember, it was past midnight when we took these pictures!

For this mascara, I haven't had any flaking or smudging problems. The vibrating mascara makes life easier because now I don't have to keep wriggling my wand through my lashes. This vibrating motion does the coating well by itself! Also this mascara is supposed to be more for lengthening than for adding volume. If you're looking for length, this is a good one to go for! Besides, you can try your luck at getting it for free in our giveaway~

At the same time you'll also wonder, what if the battery dies? Will it become a useless mascara?

NO!

Remember how I was a dumbo the first time I used it? Yea in the end I went ahead to use it without the vibrating function because I thought mine was faulty. Guess what? It still works perfectly! I guess you just have to do the vibrating manually as in wriggling your wand. It's still a great and fun mascara. It can be a dupe for the Lancome Oscillation Mascara but I can't be sure cause mine dried and died already so I cannot do comparison pictures for you.

Ability to hold curls : ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ (Not the best but still does quite a good job!)
Lasting Powder : ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (No smudging, no flaking~)
Length : ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (You can really get long lashes if you build it up with patience!)
Overall: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (I own one, Ringo owns one, do you want to own one too?)

So... If you do want to own one, join our GIVEAWAY HERE! It's ending soon so don't miss it!

Cheers,
Chiharu ❤
